bungalows are grouped in small villages laid out in an arc. There are 200
Standard guest-rooms of 25 square metres each, some communicating, which is

Superior Room
The
46 Superior guest-rooms, of 35 square metres each, are grouped in small villages
immediately fronting the Indian Ocean. Each can
accommodate a family of four (provided the two children are under twelve years
of age) thanks to a sofa-bed or two convertible
armchairs.

Royal Suite
Located
in the northern part of the resort, the 78 square metres Royal Suites -
Bougainvillea and Flamboyant, each occupy a larger bungalow. At once very
private, with their own private garden, and close to the heart of the resort,
they open onto palm-grove and the sea. Superbly appointed in the refined and
elegant Asian style of their white-lead furniture, they are particularly bright
and pleasing, with a large bedroom and separate lounge and dining-room. The
terrace offers a privileged upfront view of the magnificent beach and
crystal-clear sea. Fruit basket on arrival, bright-coloured bouquets and
harmonious arrangements of frangipani flowers add to the
refinement.

Blue Bar
Located
at the heart of the resort, next to Thatches, the main restaurant, the Blue Bar,
with its blue-granite décor, electric-blue lighting, and tropical, contemporary
blue cocktails, is the privileged core of the resort’s nightlife and
entertainment. The Blue Bar is a
must for savouring known cocktail recipes or the barman’s latest creations and
for getting the best view of the evening’s show. An impressive selection of drinks,
spirits and liqueurs of international brands is on offer everyday as from 10:00
am.
The
Beach Bar
Overlooking
the beach, the wood-and-thatch Beach Bar offers the best panorama in the resort:
the sea’s superb palette of blues with the mountain scenery of Black River
Gorges and Le Morne in the background.
It is a great meeting-place for enjoying excellent health and well-being
cocktails, vitamin-packed with 100% fruit or vegetable juices. Also on offer: a selection of excellent
rums, punches and other alcoholic drinks, as well as a light menu including
Mauritian dishes, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and exotic ice-cream. Open from 10:00 am to

Completely
redesigned and now more spacious and tropical, the main restaurant, Thatches,
provides a great energy-and-vitamin start to the day with its copious and
appetising breakfast buffets in its dining-room opening onto the garden or
overlooking its decorative pool. In
the evening, from 7:30 to 10:00 pm., Thatches showcases a totally new dining
experience, with six themed live-cooking stations: a stir-fry and fresh-noodle
station; an Indian station with its tandoor oven for traditional local cuisine;
a huge salad station; a fresh-pasta and pizza station; a grill-and-tepanyaki
station; and a multitude of desserts as well as an Ice-Cream Bar to complete the
array. For the more romantic, the
restaurant also features cosy wood-and-thatch dining-islets overhanging the
decorative pool.
Paul
et Virginie Restaurant
Immediately
fronting the Indian Ocean, the renovated Paul
et Virginie Restaurant has enhanced its romantic appeal yet further with the
cosiness of small thatch-roofed dining pavilions overhanging the new infinity
pool. At lunchtime, from 12:30 to
2:30 pm. everyday, it offers delicious authentic local cuisine as well as a
whole range of exotic preparations of Mauritian Creole dishes, smoked marlin
with heart of palm, sea-bream in lime sauce, tandoori lamb, grilled crayfish,
and traditional ‘kulfi’ ice-cream, to name but a few. In the evening as from 7.30 pm., its
offering is more sophisticated, with a focus on seafood and healthy stir-fries,
grills and smoked dishes: smoked marlin with heart of palm, tandoori fresh-water
prawns, grilled crayfish, prawn-and-chicken curry, and excellent desserts. The
wine list includes a variety of South African and New
World wines.

to be missed under any circumstances: the weekly Seafood Extravaganza evening
with its barbecues and séga, and the Crayfish Dinner.
Citronella's
Café
Facing
the sea, between La Pirogue and Sugar Beach Resort, guests can savour the
delights of the Mediterranean’s sunny cuisine
in the cordial warmth of Citronella’s dining-room, with its fine wrought-iron
tables, or in the shade of the café’s teak terrace. The mouth-watering offering ranges from
tasty light snacks to traditional dishes worthy of the best Italian restaurant,
including giant prawns in Espeletta chilly pastry, crayfish-bisque lasagne,
grilled crayfish with Mediterranean sauce, braised knuckle of lamb, and
tiramisu. Open for lunch from 12:30
to 3:00 pm. every day except Monday, and for dinner from 7:30 to 11:00 pm. every
day except Sunday.
