Private Tour Extension
Nestled in the southern region of
Oman, Salalah abounds in natural beauty especially during the Khareef (Jun to mid Sep), when the region receives the
annual Indian monsoon transforming the whole region into a lush garden with streams and water falls. Salalah is also of archeological and historical importance.
DAY 1 Muscat - Salalah
Morning transfer and flight from Muscat to Salalah where you will transfer to your hotel for three nights’ stay.
DAY 2 Salalah
Enjoy a full day tour of the old town of Taqa, Mirbat, the ancient capital plus a visit to Wadi Darbat and Ain Razat. Visit the tomb of Nabi Ayoub (biblical Prophet Job) perched in the mountains and limestone blow-holes of Mughsail beach. En-route spot the stark shape of leafless frankincense trees. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.
DAY 3 Ubar
A full adventure day tour by 4WD vehicle to Ubar, the lost city – termed ‘The Atlantis of the Sands’- thought to be the earliest shipping centre for frankincense some 5000 years ago. Evidence suggests the city fell into a sinkhole when an underground cave collapsed. Enjoy an exciting dune bashing ride before returning to Salalah.
DAY 4 Salalah – Muscat
Morning free until transfer to the airport for your flight to Muscat. On arrival connect with your flight home or transfer to your choice of city/beach hotel.
