From being one of the most popular regions in the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana is a genuine Caribbean paradise. The glorious sunshine, beautiful white sands and warm clear waters of the Caribbean Sea brings you the ultimate relaxation. Punta Cana currently holds a population of around 100,000 people and has many English and Spanish owned hotels and restaurants which make them be the most common language used. Punta Cana and Bávaro are two resorts areas at either end of a long beach lined with coconut palms, they have formed a nickname La Costa del Coco, or the Coconut Coast which is a land of the all inclusive resorts.

Languages
Spanish is the official language of the Dom Rep – it’s widely spoken by the locals. You might like to brush up on your Spanish skill before going to Punta Cana, many of the locals know English but some very little…

Money
The local currency is the Dominican Peso, which can be exchanged at banks and bureaus de change or at the local ATM machines. It’s recommended to change pesos into small amounts of money at a time as in some situations it can be difficult to exchange back to your original currency.
