Day 1: Chicago Arrival
Arrive in Chicago, pick up your rental car at the airport and drive to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure.
Day 2: Chicago
A full day for exploring The Windy City, Chicago with its many recognisable landmarks from films such as My Big Fat Greek Wedding, While You Were Sleeping, and The Blues Brothers. Try and include visits to the Blues Brothers Soul Food restaurant on Maxwell Street and the original House of Blues jazz club.
Day 3: Chicago – St Louis
Drive to St Louis where you can take a tram ride to the top of the famous St. Louis Arch, then view Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West, a movie produced by the National Geographic Society.
Day 4: St Louis - Memphis
Today you travel to Memphis and have two days and nights to explore its multitude of iconic music hotspots. Visit Elvis Presley’s Graceland, the Rock & Soul Museum, the Gibson Guitar factory or Sun Studio.
Day 5: Memphis
If you’re lucky, catch a concert at the Mud Island outdoor amphitheatre. Visit B.B. King''s restaurant on famous Beale Street.
Day 6: Memphis - Vicksburg
Follow the banks of the Mississippi to Vicksburg via Clarksdale, the heart of the Delta Blues. Visit its Museum housing Blues memorabilia.
Day 7: Vicksburg – New Orleans
On to the Big Easy today! New Orleans is a jazz lover's paradise with numerous jazz & blues clubs, and the familiar backdrop in a string of successful movies.
Day 8: New Orleans
Continue to explore this city of riverboats, jazz, and Creole cuisine. Take time to visit the beautiful botanical garden and maybe board a paddle steamer for a dinner cruise on the mighty Mississippi
Day 9: New Orleans - Birmingham
Sweet Home Alabama! Today, you head to Birmingham, Alabama. Visit the Jazz Hall of Fame where you'll find a wonderful tribute to jazz greats. For movie lovers, seek out the Whistle Stop Café, the inspiration for Fried Green Tomatoes.
Day 10: Birmingham - Chattanooga
Returning to Tennessee today, set forth to Chattanooga, venue of the annual Chattanooga Riverbend Festival in summer.
Day 11: Chattanooga - Nashville
Arrive in Nashville – Music City USA. Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, a multimedia music shrine detailing country music's colourful history, the Ryman Auditorium and enjoy a night at the Grand Ole Opry.
Day 12: Nashville - Louisville
Your final stop on this fascinating self-drive tour is Louisville, Kentucky, home of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, featured in the movie Sea Biscuit. You could also visit a bourbon distillery.
Day 13: Louisville - Chicago
Today, your tour returns you to the Windy City, Chicago, after having visited seven different states, experienced many popular movie set locations, and heard a wide range of music genres.
Day 14: Chicago Departure
A final day in Chicago before you return your car at the airport before your departure flight.
