Day 1: New York City Arrival

Arrive in the Empire State and take a bite of the “Big Apple”. Overnight in New York with evening at leisure.

Day 2: New York City – Washington DC (229 miles)

Collect your rental car. Leave NYC behind and drive to Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love”. Visit Historic Philadelphia including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, or one of the many museums. Continue to the capital, Washington, D.C. for two nights.

Day 3: Washington DC

Washington, D.C. is full of countless historic monuments, museums and institutions, including the Smithsonian Museum, White House and Lincoln Memorial. Take time, too, to stroll through the shops of Georgetown on the Potomac River.

Day 4: Washington DC – Virginia Beach (208 miles)

Leave “The District” behind and continue your journey southwards, passing through Richmond, VA, capitol of the Confederacy during the Civil War. End your day at Virginia Beach, by the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 5: Virginia Beach – North Carolina Outer Banks Area

Head south to the North Carolina Outer Banks area, a 200 mile string of narrow barrier islands along the coast. You can board the ferry at Cape Hatteras to Cedar Island via Ocracoke Island, known as the resting place of the infamous pirate “Blackbeard”.

Day 6: North Carolina Outer Banks Area – Myrtle Beach (297 miles)

Today you drive towards the “State of Smiling Faces - Beautiful Places”, South Carolina. Arrive in Myrtle Beach, SC, known for its warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches.

Day 7: Myrtle Beach – Charleston (96 miles)

Move down the coast to Charleston, the oldest city in South Carolina, known for its rich history, well persevered architecture, and friendly southern charm. Shop on Kings Street, visit Market Street or explore the historic site of Ft. Sumter.

Day 8: Charleston – Savannah (108 miles)

Leave Charleston behind and drive further down the coast to Savannah. Savannah is known as “Hollywood of the South” being the location for such films as the Oscar winning movie Forrest Gump and The Notebook.

Day 9: Savannah – Daytona Beach (229 miles)

Leave Georgia behind and head due south into the Sunshine State, Florida. Stop by St. Augustine, the oldest city and port in the continental United States, first explored in 1513. Continue south to Daytona Beach, home of the famous Daytona 500 race on the NASCAR circuit.

Day 10: Daytona Beach – Miami (260 miles)

Cruise down scenic A1A beside the beach, maybe visiting the NASA Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral before passing the lavish estates of Palm Beach towards Miami Beach. Experience Miami’s outdoor beach lifestyle, Art Deco architecture, patio café life, and contagious night life, or window shop the famous boutiques of the Lincoln Street corridor.

Day 11: Miami Departure

Enjoy the last day of your Eastern Seaboard Extravaganza tour in the city with a Latin beat before dropping your car at Miami Airport for departure.
