Originally designed by famous island architect, Geoffrey Bawa in the striking style of an 18th Century Dutch Village, the 75-room low-rise Avani Bentota Resort & Spa has been totally renewed by Thailands famous Anantara hotel chain to become a cool, laid-back resort hotel with a vibrant contemporary feel. Set amid eight acres of palm-dotted tropical grounds on Sri Lankas south coast, it enjoys beautiful views over the sea and fronts a broad sandy beach offering perfect swimming during the season from December to April. Bentota village is just a short walk away.
