Fundu is the epitome of a "bare foot paradise" with a distinct Robinson Crusoe air in a remote and peaceful location. It is a place for guests to relax and unwind in casual, yet stylish surroundings. Fundu Lagoon is on Pemba Island, which is part of the Zanzibar archipelago and lays to the north of its larger, better known sister island, Unguja. The hotel is situated on a remote and beautiful beach on the south western side of Pemba, and is only accessible by boat. The main means of visiting Pemba Island are by light aircraft charter or schedule flight. Guests arrive at the airport and there is a short vehicle ride to Mkoani Port which takes approximately 30 minutes. Fundu Lagoon provides a private speedboat service (20-25 minutes). The best weather to visit Fundu Lagoon is between December and March and again from July to early November, with the optimum months being July through to September.
