Located one hour from Port Elizabeth, is Pumba Private Game Reserve in 6,500 hectares of Eastern Cape wilderness and home to the 'Big Five'. There are two stunning lodges within the reserve, the luxurious Pumba Water Lodge comprising 12 spacious stone-walled, thatched, waterfront cottages all opening onto a private timber deck with outdoor shower and plunge pool overlooking a deep water lake, home to the resident family of hippo. The new Msenge Bush Lodge offers 11 glass-enclosed, thatched chalets in the thick bush with all 11 bedrooms opening up onto a timber deck with outdoor shower and plunge pool overlooking roaming game. There is a bush spa with mini-gym. Activities available in the area include 'Big Five' game drives, bass fishing, bush safari walks, horseback trails, coastal helicopter trips, historical tours and star gazing.
