About the Savanna Private Game Reserve
An amazing safari experience awaits you here at this romantic and stunningly conceived luxury 'tented' lodge in game-rich Sabi Sand Reserve adjoining the Kruger National Park. Its sumptuous suite-style 'tents' are among South Africa's more stylish accommodation, complementing the experience of professional rangers on the guided 4x4 drives and bush walks. The dining-room is also tented although dinner is often served under the stars in a Boma or the bush (some bush breakfasts can be arranged too!). Savanna Private Game Reserve features four air-conditioned Luxury Suites with raised bath and separate shower, or three Executive Suites with their own lounge and private plunge pool.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS
Executive Suite
- The three large Executive Suites have canvas roofs for an authentic safari ambience and the romance of sleeping in Bedouin-style tents. Canvas roofs are set above solid walls for comfort, privacy and security as well as efficient air-conditioning and fans. Each Executive Suite has an outsized bathroom with free-standing bath, double vanities, double shower and toilet as well as outdoor shower atrium. The bedrooms have plush sitting areas and glass doors that open onto covered patios with private plunge pools facing waterholes in the bush. Quiet and secluded, they offer a sanctuary of peaceful relaxation after the adrenalin rush of an exciting game drive.
Luxury Suite
- Four Luxury Suites under canvas nestle amid beautiful indigenous trees that attract a variety of birds. They have the same facilities as the larger suites in a more compact space and are furnished and decorated to the same superb standard. The bedrooms have draped ceilings creating an atmosphere of romance and intimacy. Tented roofs blend into the African bush while solid walls provide quiet and security, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Each Luxury Suite has an en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath, double vanities and both indoor and outdoor shower. The bedrooms open onto private decks with sweeping views of the bush and waterholes.
Savanna Individual Suite
- The Savanna Suite is an opulent home away from home under thatch. Two large, beautifully furnished bedrooms lie on either side of an inter-connecting lounge. Each has an outsized bathroom with free-standing bath, double vanities, double shower and toilet. The bathrooms open onto paved outdoor showers. The bedrooms have glass doors with screens leading out onto covered patios, plunge pools and private waterholes in the bush.
The lounge is a harmonious meld of elegance and comfort with couches grouped around a television and DVD centre, and a cosy reading nook in front of the fireplace. Step through sliding.

- The Lounge
The lounge and dining room is an impressive building under thatch, which is perfectly positioned with a view of the beautiful swimming pool and a few metres further, the waterhole where some of Africa's most impressive wildlife can be viewed.
- The Library
Guests may enjoy game viewing in comfort from the upstairs Library, or they may browse through the well stocked Curio shop.
- Game Viewing
Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino, cheetah, hippo and crocodile plus a multitude of general game and over 450 bird species may be viewed from the comfort and safety of the open game drive vehicle. Game drives are conducted by professional and extremely well qualified game rangers and trackers, who are experienced and knowledgeable on all aspects of the bush. The Sabi Sand area is renowned for having the best leopard viewing in the world and is known worldwide as 'The Land of the Leopard'. Optional walking safaris are conducted daily, in order to experience the beauty and fascination of Africa's flora and fauna.

Full English breakfasts and lunches are served on the veranda and dinner is served either in the dining room or in the starlit Boma warmed by a roaring log fire.
- The Boma at Savanna
The open-air Boma, also overlooking the floodlit waterhole, creates a warm, friendly atmosphere, where guests may enjoy a traditional African meal under the stars. The Boma at Savanna has recently been upgraded and now encompasses a thatched bar and cooking area and state-of-the-art cooking facilities. New specially designed tables and chairs add to the ambience of a starlit evening around the camp fire.
