Regularly voted the worlds best hotel, the long-renowned Mandarin Oriental Bangkok overlooks the Chao Phraya River, a short boat ride from the nearest skytrain station and River City complex. A haven of flawless service and comfort, it has 393 elegant air-conditioned River and Garden Wing rooms and suites (side river view) with luxury bathroom, television and mini-bar. Restaurants include the acclaimed Le Normandie, a riverside terrace (nightly barbecues), Thai, Chinese and Italian (Oct/April) venues. The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok has two pools, a sports complex and a spa on the opposite bank of the river, reached by hotel launch.


Located on higher floors, Deluxe Rooms, measuring 40 square metres, offer full river views and sumptuous comfort.  The elegant décor features traditional Thai elements such as genuine teak furniture, beautiful silks, and a daily delivery of fresh exotic fruits and flowers.  Guests will also enjoy enhanced bathroom amenities, with a personal butler at your service.  Amenities include individual thermostatic controller for air-conditioning and humidity, personal mini-bar refrigerator, work desk with in-built international plugs and Internet access, remote control television with on command in-house movies, Bose CD-player, spacious bathroom with separate bathtub and walk-in shower and double vanity, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers.

Entered via a teak panelled hallway, rooms are decorated in a traditional Thai style with dark wood furnishings and brightly coloured silks. Traditional afternoon tea served with old world charm
The Authors' Lounge must surely rate as one of Bangkok's, if not Thailand's, most photographed locations. Originally an open roofed garden featuring a pond signposted 'please don't feed the tortoise', the Authors' Lounge has since 1976, featured a glass roof and is the place to enjoy afternoon tea. In keeping with the great literary heritage of the hotel, the newly restored Authors' Lounge will feature a brand new collection of photographs of the many famous writers who have stayed at the hotel over the last three centuries. Ayurveda - meaning the science of life - has been used for thousands of years in India and is practiced alongside modern medicine. The principles of Ayurveda are based around the idea that our mind, body and spirit are intrinsically linked by three energies, or ''doshas', and that optimum wellbeing occurs when these three doshas are in balance.
