Al Waha 1 Bedroom Suite

  • Al Waha One-Bedroom Suites, measuring 73 sq m., offer expansive, contemporary luxury, and are ideal for guests travelling as a group or who require extra space and amenities. Each suite has views over the lush gardens and pools towards the Gulf of Oman. Al Waha One-Bedroom Suites offer a separate sitting room and dining area, ideal for intimate gatherings or entertaining. The bathroom features a separate bath and shower cubicle.

    Overlooking 500-metres of pristine coastline, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah is home to a secluded spa village, four floodlit tennis courts, a private beach, six swimming pools, kid's splash pad and Oman's only lazy river experience.

    Jump off your sun-lounger and make the most of our activity programme, where you'll have the chance

    to meet the recreational team and other guests while staying active and healthy. Gymnasium and Fitness Centre
    The gymnasium is located on the ground floor of our Health Club and is fully equipped with the cardiovascular and resistance machines. A fitness studio where indoor classes take place is located on the first floor. Sportswear is available from several shops within the resort.
    Note: Children under 18 years old are not permitted to enter the gymnasium

    Tennis Courts
    The resort features 4 floodlit tennis courts. Tennis racquets and balls are available from the Health Club reception desk. Tennis coaching is available, with individual lessons, semi-private classes, group clinics and junior sessions on offer. Cardio tennis sessions to increase fitness levels and build on-the-court resilience are also available.

    Beach Volleyball
    A beach volleyball court is set up on Al Bandar beach (near the water sports centre).

    Guided Snorkelling
    Join us for an exciting snorkelling tour, where the professional guides will show you some of the wonders that lie under the pristine waters of Oman. Participants can expect to swim approximately 500–600 metres during this activity.
    Timing: Sunday - Wednesday from 11am - Noon

    Notes: Advance booking is a must. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the session time to collect a suitably sized mask and snorkel. Participants must be aged 15 years or older and must be able to swim.

    Sun, sand and vitamin sea
    Whether you want to deep-dive into the incredible underwater playground off the coast of Oman or take it in from above, there are plenty of ways to get a dose of Vitamin Sea on your holiday. From daily excursions and diving tours at Barr Al Jissah Marina with the official partner, Extra Divers Qantab, to a selection of high-octane watersports on Al Waha beach in collaboration with Watercooled Powered By Sidab Sea Tours, plunge into an aquatic adventure.

  • Turtle Care Project

    Caring for the yearly visitors
    The beaches of Oman are one of the world's most prolific breeding sites for five different species of sea turtles and Shangri-La just happens to be one of the top five turtle nesting sites in the country. In line with the resort commitment to biodiversity conservation, they run a Turtle Care Project which aims to protect the endangered hawksbill and green turtle species native to the beach. Every year between March and September, more than 100 turtles are seen on the shores, producing thousands of hatchlings with the help of dedicated Turtle Ranger who ensures their nests are sheltered from harm. The Turtle Ranger hosts daily "turtle talks" at the Eco Centre, located on the first floor of Al Bandar Hotel, and invite guests of all ages to join and learn about the yearly visitors.

    A World of Family Fun Awaits
    Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah offers families a welcoming holiday in this enchanting corner of the world. Children can play in the safe, supervised environments, while parents relax and enjoy their own time together.

    Cool Zone Kids Club
    Located in Al Bandar besides Al Tanoor. Children up to the age of eight years old are welcome to enter Cool Zone. Children under the age of four years old should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

    Children's Pool
    The children's pool located beside the Circles pool bar, at Al Bandar Hotel, and next to Assira pool bar, at Al Waha Hotel.

    Lazy River
    Meander your way between Al Waha and Al Bandar and back again, on inflatable tubes along the Lazy River, inspired by the centuries-old falaj system that brought fresh water to remote Omani villages.

    Activities for Children
    Children love the fun activities such as Loom Band Making, Make a "Minion" and Henna Painting. The resort also offer a variety of fun games to keep our junior guests engaged. Please contact the Cool Zone team for the activities schedule.

    Splashpad
    Located on the headland at the Al Waha hotel, Splashpad is an aquatic play area for the whole family with a combination of water features including light mists, touch sensitive sprays and projection jets.

    Mini Golf
    All aspiring golfers are invited to come and enjoy a game of mini golf on the exciting golf course, which features nine challenging holes and is located adjacent to the Health Club. Grab your golf putter and balls from the Health Club's reception.

    Adult Only Areas
    To protect the safety of small children and provide a relaxed atmosphere for adults, certain areas of the resort such as the in-hotel bars and Chi, The Spa are reserved for adults only.
