OVERVIEW
The InterContinental Tahiti Resort is an ideal Tahiti base from which to 'island-hop', this stylish, long-established resort located 2km from the airport offers both a high standard of international luxury and a serene setting on the sunset-facing side of the island. Facilities include two restaurants for themed buffets with live entertainment to intimate à la carte dining over the lagoon, two 'lagoon' swimming pools set amid 32 acres of tropical gardens facing the island of Moorea and a choice of leisure activities.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS
Garden View Room
- There are 78 of these rooms of the same size and décor as the Lagoon View Rooms. They are named for their location at garden level, although most of them have at least a partial view of the water. Garden View Rooms, measuring 28.5 square metres plus terrace, feature king-size or twin beds configuration. All rooms feature a private bath and shower, satellite television with movie channels, Internet access, mini-bar and tea/coffee-making facilities.
Lagoon Overwater Bungalow
- Overwater Bungalows, modelled after traditional Polynesian houses called fare, are perhaps the most romantic and certainly the most intimate of accommodation. They are roofed in traditional pandanus leaves and sit on the lagoon itself on stilts. They all have sundecks and platforms which you can step off into the lagoon waters for a swim or a snorkel or watch the sunset, glass in hand. They have 15 of the Lagoon variety, built at the Lotus end of the resort, near the Lotus Restaurant, Lotus Pool and Swim-Up Bar. They are Junior Suite configuration measuring 38.5 square metres excluding the deck and platform from which you can swim into some 10ft of water.
Lagoon View Room
- Lagoon View Rooms (92) are cosy and spacious, measuring 28.5 square metres plus private balcony, with king-size or twin beds configuration. Lagoon View Rooms are grouped around the central core of the hotel and all have views across the lagoon to the reef and the ocean beyond. All rooms feature a private bath and shower, satellite television with movie channels, Internet access, mini-bar and tea/coffee-making facilities.
Motu Overwater Bungalow
- Overwater Bungalows, modelled after traditional Polynesian houses called fare, are perhaps the most romantic and certainly the most intimate of accommodation. They are roofed in traditional pandanus leaves and sit on the lagoon itself on stilts. They all have sundecks and platforms which you can step off into the lagoon waters for a swim or a snorkel or watch the sunset, glass in hand. Motu is Tahitian for an islet and it's around the little motu that 17 Overwater Bungalows are located. The motu sits out by the lagoon in front of the Lagoonarium, the main pool and the central resort complex. It's a little haven of peace and tranquillity.
Motu Overwater Villa
- The ultimate luxury accommodation for discerning honeymoon couples! Modelled after the luxurious and modern overwater accommodations of the InterContinental & Thalasso Spa on Bora Bora, the Overwater Villa Suite features over 100 square metres of living space, including a large living room, bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in closet, and bathroom with separate shower and bath, and split-level terrace and sundeck from which you step into the warm lagoon. The villa is nicely appointed with two LCD flat-screen televisions with local & international channels including CNN, and CD/DVD-player.
Panoramic Room
- Located at the secluded end of the resort are the largest rooms located in two buildings with just 30 rooms each. Panoramic Rooms offer magnificent panoramic views over the exquisite Lotus infinity-edge pool, the lagoon and across the Sea of Moons to Moorea. Panoramic Rooms, measuring a spacious 38.5 square metres plus balcony, feature king-size or twin beds configuration. Along with the Overwater Bungalows, Panoramic Rooms are the top choice of many honeymooners.
Panoramic Suite
- The ultimate in luxury in the most spacious and opulent accommodation with its 74 square metres of bedroom, lounge, bar area and dining room, all superbly decorated and equipped. Amenities include a private balcony with recliners, bathroom with two washbasins, Jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower, hairdryer, complimentary range of guest amenities including toiletries by Audley of London. Individually controlled air-conditioning, refrigerator with mini-bar, complimentary tea & coffee making facilities, same day laundry and dry cleaning (except Sunday & Public Holidays), in-room safe, direct dial telephone, television (local & international channels including CNN), and Internet access point.

- Le Lotus Swim-Up Bar
Take a seat and cool of with a beer or soft drink without ever leaving the water. Tropical cocktails and freshly squeezed island juices are the featured attractions, but there's a refreshing drink for everyone in the sand-bottomed infinity pool.
- Lobby Bar Terrace
This stylish lounge is the perfect venue to enjoy the best sunset views, for after-dinner drinks or guests arriving later in the evenings. You can choose from aperitifs, cocktails and premium champagnes in a refined atmosphere, enjoying the panoramic views of the lagoon and Moorea. It is open 24 hours a day, and offers a menu of light meals and snacks.

The Deep Nature Spa is located at the heart of the InterContinental Tahiti Resort. Inspired by 'te moana' (the sea) and 'te fenua' (the earth), signature treatments use a combination of marine products developed by Algotherm and land products such as fragrant monoi oil by Hei Poa. Spa facilities include a relaxation area with steam bath, rain showers, tea lounge and cold plunge pool, plus a lavish fitness room with unobstructed views of the lagoon.

- The Tiare Restaurant
The Tiare Restaurant is the heart of the hotel, offering all-day dining, renowned dinner shows, authentic Tahitian ambience and second-to-none views of the pool, waterfalls and mountains over Moorea. The open kitchen stays busy creating light snacks, healthy salads, fresh fish specialities and specially selected meats from New Zealand. On show nights, guests fill amphitheatre-style seating to watch traditional dance performances at the water's edge.
- Le Lotus Restaurant
Tucked away in a secluded spot at the far end of the resort is Le Lotus Restaurant, an over water restaurant known for its gourmet and degustation menus (chef-selected tasting menu). An association with the Michelin-rated L'Auberge de l'Ill has inspired dishes such as La Palette du Lotus with Mi-cuit de Foie Gras and Swordfish with Avocado Gaspacho and Polynesian Shell Tartare. Fine French wines, soft piano music and a location on the lagoon make this the most romantic setting on the island.
